We are different because our goal is not to be a big program but to be an effective program. We believe that simple detail sets us apart from most other centers. Our goal is to change many lives positively, one man at a time.
The program is centered around Sober Living along with Addiction treatment. There are alumni who work at the program in various capacities. All are certified or are presently in the certification process.
We have professionally facilitated group counseling at my office on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. This is a total of 6 contact hours with certified addiction counselors per week. All clients are tested using a 12-panel urine drug screening 2-3 times per week. We have a written relapse management plan. Additionally, for support, all clients attend 12-step meetings on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Clients are required to get a 12-step sponsor by the end of the first month and have weekly meetings with their sponsor at the house or the AA clubhouse.

What is different about Glynn’s Place?
At Glynn’s Place, we encourage our clients to explore their own spiritual and faith practices. We are not financially supported by any church or faith-based charity. We are not a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) organization. That means we must pay taxes on any profit. We don’t require church attendance because we view a program which prefers any brand of religion as unethical. Our clients will get free transportation to and from any local church if they ask. There are multiple churches within walking distance from the Dublin House on Church Street.
We do not get involved in the financial stream between a client and their paycheck. We see potential legal and ethical problems in collecting payment on behalf of a client and then taking part of that payment. We will assist clients in finding employment and each client is responsible for paying their fees to us.
We are not a campus-oriented program. Our housing is in appropriately zoned residential homes that are owned by the program. We do not lease any property for housing. Each client is responsible for adherence to rules such as curfews. Each client is randomly drug tested at least weekly because of the freedom each client gets.
We do not have a cafeteria that prepares meals or a laundry service. Food and laundry detergent is furnished at each house and is included as a part of the weekly program fee. We view meal preparation and laundry as part of normal life that men should be able to do upon completion. We view this as a lesson in becoming independent men.
We do not have any business that employees our clients directly. We view direct employment of clients as a conflict of interest and unethical. Additionally, because I have personal professional credentials that require a code of ethics agreement this would quite possibly be considered a dual relationship which is expressly banned.
We have a Georgia Department of Behavioral Health approved ASAM Level I program. We integrate this as a adjunct to our inpatient care and as a free service for Glynn's Place alumni as aftercare. This program is open to males and females.
